Adidas All Blacks event

In November we were asked to shoot an All Blacks event for Adidas. This wasn’t just a run-of-the-mill reportage job, it was a lot more complicated. The New Zealand rugby team, the All Blacks, were playing in Ireland and 4 members of the squad were booked to come to a sports store in Dublin for the shoot. The concept was quite specific – to photograph members of the public in a huddle with 3 of the players. The camera angle had to be from below and wanted a black background and stadium style lighting. The photograph then had to be processed, printed out, put …

Agency Website Portraits

An agency we work closely with are redesigning their website and wanted to portraits shooting of all their staff. They wanted to shots to be friendly, modern, fun and creative, not just standard boring head and shoulders shots, but didn’t want them to be similar to any other rival agency’s images. We came up with shooting stylised ‘selfies’ (self portraits at arms length). These were lit, styled and shot by us, but made to look like they’d been ‘self-shot’ by the staff members. We shot at a very high f-stop to make the subjects eyes sharp in focus, but very …

British Weightlifting shoot

The British Weightlifting Federation approached us this month for a photoshoot. They support a team of successful British athletes, some of which have competed in the Olympics and have a range of records and achievements. The advertisement needed to portray the fact that all their athletes are just normal people and that anyone …

LaRedoute – Anne Weyburn gift shoot

LaRedoute contacted us for a model and product shoot. It was an advertisement for a free Anne Weyburn gift of a watch and a bag with certain purchases. The shoot consisted of two parts. First was the model side of a woman wearing and holding the gifts. They wanted it to be quite dark and classy with the highlight on the products. The second part was the product shoot which they wanted to match the model images, so these were shot on black plexiglass to add an upmarket feel and make the products stand out.

RSA – location portraits

We recently received a job from RSA (Royal Sun Alliance) insurance asking for some location shots. They wanted us to visit one of their call centres in Peterborough and take some reportage style images of the building and the staff working for a brochure. We also had to travel down to the RSA headquarters in London to shoot portraits of some of the management. This was a tricky job as they only had a small space for us to setup and a short time to shoot everybody in. The brief had been straightforward head and shoulder shots of a selection …
